An A List

Posted on: Thursday 03/23/2017 09:45:47

I get to see my son this weekend, as expected. I'm glad for that. It will probably be a Sunday brunch.

I escaped having to work this Saturday.

Last week I ordered a cool Ab Fab T-shirt that features Patsy. It arrived in the mail today. They sent me two of them though. Not complaining. Love that show.

I have asked the lady I have been talking to on POF about meeting for coffee sometime this weekend. No response yet.

Bosco has been very well behaved since late Tuesday night, when he bit me on the finger. For some reason, he got mad and went off when we were in bed and my hand bumped his rump. He didn't break skin or give me a bruise, but it did hurt. Right now he is showing me how much he likes the crab-cheese dip and Wheat Thins I bought at the store.

Antenna TV just announced they will have a Three Stooges marathon on Saturday, April 1st. I will absolutely be clearing my calendar for that day.

Happy Friday to all!

    What's Patsy?

Molly accidentally head-butted me once when I was combing her and hit a tender spot. She was sooooooooo contrite when she realized what she did. Instead of curling up in the crook of my knees on the couch like she usually does, she sort of put her head across my ankles until I reassured her sufficiently that I wasn't mad.

Snow - Patsy Stone is a character in Absolutely Fabulous - a British Sitcom. She pioneered the Stolly & Bolly cocktail (vodka and champagne) as a mid-morning pick me up; smokes like a chimney and shags any younger or richer man.

That is the iconic photo of her. She is huge in Commonwealth Countries - I assumed that she would be in the US as well

  • Fritz The Bootlegger Says:
Lerm she is somewhat well known. Comedy Central ran that show for years. I'm a big fan of Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French's works.

  • fakebrunette Says:
They did a couple of shows about 5 years ago to round up some of their enduring stories

  • Nightbreed Says:
Ab-Fab is one of my favorite series of all time. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

  • Simon Says:
Absolutely Fabulous had some great episodes, owing largely to Patsy Stone’s character. One of my favourite scenes is where the three of them are on holiday in Morocco and when Edwina realises her prudish, moralising daughter Saffron is missing, Edwina admits to having sold her into slavery.

French and Saunders was often better though, because they relied on short sketches rather than full episodes. Their parody of The Silence of the Lambs was a classic.

  • Simon Says:
    * Sorry, that should of course have been Patsy admits to having sold her into slavery.

I'm glad you get to see your son AND get out of working this weekend :) Mine weekend will be, I hope, dull and quiet. After last weekend I need one of those!

    Vodka AND champagne?? Holy hell!

  • H3OsMama Says:
I may check it out...Ab Fab, that is.

  • lermontov Says:
    It is on Netflix

Simon- I love that episode. I think it's funny as hell anytime in an episode when: 1) Patsy and/or Edina gang up on Saffy, and 2) Patsy tries to seduce Saffy's male friends or school mates./homepage
